Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
This page applies to anyone who wants PrettyPettyMerch to record that their personal data must not be sold or shared, with the rights it rests on and the exact steps that put the request on file.
If California law applies to you
Right to opt out: the right, under the California Consumer Privacy Act, in the form the California Privacy Rights Act gave it, to tell a business not to sell your personal data and not to pass it on for advertising that follows you from site to site. Every California resident has it. Residents of the other states with a privacy law, listed on the Privacy Policy, have a matching right, and this page treats a request from any US resident the same way.
If the words sale and sharing need defining
Sale and sharing: two legal terms. Under the law, a sale happens when personal data goes to another business and money or some other benefit comes back. Sharing is passing it on so that advertising can follow you from one site to another. PrettyPettyMerch does neither. The site carries no advertising pixel, no analytics tag and no plugin from a social network, and the only companies that receive your data are the five service providers named on the Privacy Policy, each doing one job under contract.
Once an opt-out is on file
Effect of an opt-out: what changes after the request is recorded. The request is logged against your email address and the store is barred from selling or sharing your data in the future, even if a new tag or a new partner is ever added. What does not change: your order is still packed and delivered, the partner in China and the carrier still receive your name and address to do that, Stripe or PayPal still processes the payment, and order emails still arrive. Opting out does not delete your data; the Privacy Policy covers deletion.
Once the request is written
Opt-out request: the message that records your choice. Three steps:
- Using the address you gave at checkout, send an email to contact@prettypettymerch.com whose subject reads Opt out.
- Write one line asking that your personal data not be sold or shared, and add the confirmation number if you have ordered.
- Wait for the confirmation, which arrives within 2 business days.
The Contact Us form goes to that inbox as well and is treated identically. There is no phone opt-out, since a request recorded in writing can be checked later by both sides.
Until the request takes effect
Processing time: the days between the request and the moment it applies. It is 15 business days at most. No proof of identity is asked for, since an opt-out is honored even when the person asking cannot be matched to an order. A request sent on Monday, Nov. 9, 2026 is in force by Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2026 at the latest.
Whenever Global Privacy Control is switched on in a browser
Global Privacy Control: a setting in some browsers and extensions that tells every site you visit not to sell or share your data. prettypettymerch.com treats that signal as an opt-out request for every US visitor, with nothing further to send, and the signal applies to the browser that sends it rather than to an email address.
If someone asks on your behalf
Authorized agent: a person or company you have given written permission to act for you. An agent can send the opt-out request with a copy of that permission attached. A parent or guardian may file for a child under 13, in which case the child’s data is deleted rather than merely opted out. The store sells adult accessories and knowingly collects no data from anyone under 16.
Once the opt-out applies
Non-discrimination: the rule that using a privacy right costs you nothing. After an opt-out you pay the same prices, get the same delivery times and the same support, and no order of yours is refused or slowed for it.
