Payment Policy

This page applies to every payment made at the checkout of prettypettymerch.com, from the moment you pick a payment method to the moment the amount due is charged or refunded.

Once the payment step opens

Payment method: one of the two options checkout offers. Credit Card covers four brands, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover; the MeshCheckout gateway serves the card fields and Stripe runs the charge. PayPal hands you to its own site to log in and approve, then returns you to the order confirmation. Pick one, pay, done. No other method exists on this site.

If an extra fee is expected at checkout

Add-on fee: a charge that is not a bag and not the shipping charge. There is none. No card fee, no handling fee, no insurance fee, no packaging fee and no currency fee is added by PrettyPettyMerch. The amount due is the bags plus $5.90 when the subtotal is under $69, and the bags alone from $69.

Whenever a price appears on the site

Price: the amount shown on a listing and at checkout, in US dollars, with no sales tax included and none added later. Prices can change between visits, but checkout charges the figure it showed you at the order button, never a later one. A card issued outside the United States is charged in US dollars, and any conversion fee on top of that belongs to the bank that issued the card, not to this store.

If a sales tax line is expected

Sales tax: a percentage added to a retail sale by a state or city. Checkout adds none, so the amount due has two parts at most, the bags and the shipping charge. Were sales tax ever collected, this page, the Shipping Policy and checkout would all change at once.

Until the order button is pressed

Amount due: the figure shown above the order button, with every line that makes it up. Before you confirm, checkout lists each bag and its price, the shipping charge or the words free delivery, and the total. Read that screen. Nothing is added after it. Three bags at $25.99, $25.99 and $15.99 show a subtotal of $67.97, a shipping line of $5.90 and an amount due of $73.87.

If the footer logos and checkout ever disagree

Payment logo: a small card or wallet image in the footer and at checkout. Five payment logos sit in the footer, and every one of them is a method checkout really takes: the four card brands and PayPal. A logo for anything else would be wrong. If a logo appears for a method checkout does not offer, checkout is right and the logo is removed the same day.

Whenever a card attempt fails

Pending hold: a temporary block on card funds that a declined or interrupted attempt can leave behind. It is not a charge. Your bank drops it on its own, usually within 5 business days. A successful second attempt is charged once; the earlier hold still disappears on the bank’s schedule.

Once the order is placed

Charge timing: the moment money leaves your card or PayPal account. Payment is taken in full at the moment the order is placed. Nothing is charged later and nothing is held back for dispatch.

If no confirmation email arrives

Order confirmation: the email sent within minutes of a successful payment, with the confirmation number, the bags, the address and the amount due. Give it an hour, look in the spam folder, and then write to support with the name and email address used at checkout; support resends it or confirms that no order was created.

If the payment is declined

Declined payment: an attempt the card issuer or PayPal refuses. No order is created and nothing is charged, apart from a pending hold that lifts on its own. Check the card number, the expiry date, the security code and the billing postcode, or try PayPal. If the bank keeps refusing, call your bank at the number printed on the card; support cannot see the reason for a decline.

If an order is put on hold

Order review: a short hold on an order whose details do not line up, such as a billing address far from the delivery address or several failed attempts before a success. Within 1 business day support writes to say what would clear the hold, most often a confirmation of the billing address. No reply within 3 business days means the order is cancelled and every dollar returned.

Whenever card details are typed

Card data: the card number, expiry date and security code. They are typed into fields served by the MeshCheckout gateway and passed to Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 processor, and they never reach a PrettyPettyMerch server or database. Support cannot see a card number and cannot take one by email or phone. No payment system is risk-free, so the store does not promise one; it promises that the card number is never stored here.

If the billing address is outside the United States

Billing address: the address your bank holds for the card. Any country is fine for billing; the delivery address is the one that must be a street address inside the 48 connected states or Washington, DC. What the billing address must match is the record your bank keeps, nothing else.

If another payment method is wanted

Unsupported method: anything other than the four card brands and PayPal. Installment plans, store credit, gift cards, cryptocurrency, cash on delivery, bank transfers, money orders, checks, Google Pay and Apple Pay are not accepted and cannot be arranged by email.

If a price on the site is plainly wrong

Pricing error: a listed price that is clearly a mistake, such as the Women’s Vintage-Finish Faux Leather Tote Bag in Taupe at $3.89 instead of $38.99. An order placed at a wrong price is not dispatched. Support emails you within 1 business day with the correct price; you confirm the order at that price or cancel for a full refund within 3 business days.

If a discount code turns up

Discount code: a code typed at checkout to lower the subtotal. None is issued by PrettyPettyMerch and checkout has no field for one. Codes posted on coupon sites were not issued here and will not work.

Unless support has heard from you first

Chargeback: a dispute filed with your card issuer to reverse a charge. Email support before filing one. Most disputes come from a late package or a bag that disappointed, and both are settled faster through the Refund and Returns Policy than through a bank, which can take 60 to 90 days to rule. A chargeback filed while a refund is already on its way delays the money.

Once the charge shows on your statement

Statement descriptor: the name printed next to the charge on your card or PayPal statement. It is chosen by the payment processor, and PrettyPettyMerch may not be the name you see. Match the amount and the date to your order confirmation before treating the line as unknown, and email support with the confirmation number if it still does not add up.

Once checkout has your details

Personal data at checkout: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and billing address. The Privacy Policy lists who receives each of them and how long they are kept.
